That was the year that was

watering-can-on-grassWe’ve had a busy year which is the way we like it! It’s been a year of growth, not just within team Learning Pool (there are now 28 of us) but within the Learning Pool community too. Here are a few of our highlights of the year; why not add yours?  

We’re all looking forward to working with you in 2009.

• Over 50 delegates attend our e-learning Efficiencies showcase in central London, hearing about Remote and flexible Working e-learning, CSR07 and the Ultimate Mobile working from Major Roy Evans.
• We launch Mental Capacity Act e-learning in a tie up with Progressus Solutions

• Reports, setting up users and general administration are all on the agenda at our first ever DLE workshop in Bristol
• The Education Show at Birmingham’s NEC is the venue for the launch of our new e-learning for school governor’s service, Modern Governor.

• More e-learning deals on Information Security e-learning from Bob’s Business, Health, Safety and environment e-learning from Praxis42 are launched this month
• London Borough of Brent shares its suite of 6 Environment and Climate change courses in the catalogue
• Milton Keynes, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire produce an e-learning module for their Councillors on Safer Communities 

• Brand new templates and the ability to include video and audio are key features of the new Authoring Tool version 5 launched this month
• The prestigious MJ Awards features Learning Pool customers LB Haringey and Kirklees Council as finalists
• Our first Modern Governor customer signs up

• Customers calling the LP help desk ring a new number this month with the introduction of our new Customer Service phone number
• All Learning Pool DLE’s receive their first ever upgrade featuring over 12 enhancements and fixes
• New courses released to the catalogue this month include PRIME:Local Government from IDeA and two new Performance Appraisals courses we produced in the new AT
• Leicestershire LEA rolls out Modern Governor to all its 286 schools training, giving over 3,000 governors access to e-learning just for them

• Passport to Procurement, free procurement e-learning for anyone in local government, produced by Norfolk CC is launched
• Learning Pool customers can now access over 1,000 free images for their e-learning as a result of our new online picture library
• LB Barnet holds on online webchat for staff with their Chief Executive via their DLE.

• Stories about rock and roll, the US Election, train journeys and a bit of e-learning are published on the new Learning Pool blog
• Our first ever customer satisfaction questionnaire reveals that 97% of you would recommend us to others or have already done so (thank you!)
• LB’s Merton and Sutton deliver social care training on Mental Capacity Act for 10,000 staff

• We reveal our brand new website featuring web 2.0 features like podcasts, forums and blogs plus daily news
• Learning Pool is two years old! We celebrate with some customers at a party on a boat
• Essex Partnership collaboratively purchases the DLE for 17 councils

• Modern Governor is featured on Teachers TV and critiqued by National Association of Governors
• Our Safeguarding Adults e-learning, developed with Assess For Care, is launched at events in Manchester and London
• Norfolk’s Passport to Procurement e-learning is nominated for a Society of Procurement Officers award

• Our second DLE upgrades are rolled out featuring major reporting enhancements plus some fixes
• Learning Pool becomes best new international business in Northern Ireland by winning regional final for the Seedcorn business competition

• DeltaNet International’s Information Governance e-learning is offered to LP customers at discounted prices
• Greater Manchester Police Authority’s new members e-induction module is shortlisted for the Innovation award at APA’s Recognising Excellence Awards
• Research reveals the public sector is leading the way in e-learning
• We sign up our 35th Modern Governor customer

• The pilot of our new online mentoring service, Modern Mentor, developed with 4 London Boroughs, is launched
• Cardiff County Council uses its DLE to manage its ILM students
• The e-learning on Local Government Review commissioned by Cheshire is delivered
• Six pieces of policy e-learning is designed and delivered by Learning Pool in 6 weeks for Basildon.
